We have to admit that the wave has yet to subside. Watchmakers around the globe, one after another join
the bandwagon. Producing modern vintage timepieces. From the expensive to the cheapest, these watches remind us of the old days. They come with various themes
and propositions – homage, re-issue, commemorative, or truly new modern vintage. Some are produced in limited numbers. Names like Omega,
Rado, Oris, Longines, and few other Swiss manufacturers have reproduced their
famous vintage models from the golden years in similar looks and settings but
with modern touch. Likewise Seiko and Orient also produces
their popular models from the 70s. The marketing point here is the façade - the vintage look and not so much of the movement inside. Be it mechanical or
quartz, there are many out there to hunt for.
I won't buy expensive modern vintage. I would rather have the real vintage because it retains the true intrinsic value and history. But sometime, these modern
vintages can be very tempting! Set for a small budget, I search for one. Just for the sake of fun to collect and nice to strap on… brand new. Lucky, I got the last piece from an online store in Malaysia. Can't find it anymore... sold out! It is a limited edition modern
vintage. A very familiar and famous design… I like to call it 3-in-1! One watch with
three brands! Wait for my review on this modern vintage. - thetick-thetick2020
