OTW: Casio G-Shock DW-6900

"OTW On the Wrist... articles on the way! I will post OTW from time to time. A snippets, a pictorial brief about a watch to be reviewed or a subject of opinion. It will be in Malay or English." - thetick-thetick2020

Iconic watches! Does not mean they have to be expensive. What makes these watches becoming an icon is because of its original design and loved by many. In some cases the watch created a cult by itself. Apparently they are also top selling models of all time. Some of these iconic watches have been discontinued but some still exist on the market until today. The original design remains but the manufacturer keep rejuvenating the model with production of new series, re-issue, or making a special edition. Another reason why these models survives the market is because of their easy customisation by design. Like the Seiko SKX divers, some collectors preferred to modify their collection with variety of accessories and parts that are widely available on the market. Casio’s infamous G-Shock DW-6900 model is another watch in this category. An iconic watch - a glimpse on someone's wrist, you can recognise the watch by its signature design.

The Casio G-Shock DW-6900 model was released right after the DW-6600 in 1994. Both are signature models of Casio that still exist on the market until today. The DW-6900 model is the first G-Shock to feature an EL (Electro-Luminescent) back light. Wait for my posting on this icon. - thetick-thetick2020
